Reflecting on 11 years in the photo organizing business

11 years ago, May 12, 2010, I entered the photo biz. When I think about all of the changes since then, it makes me stagger a bit.

When I started, my kids were 4, 10 and 13. They are now about (it's birthday month) 15, 21 and 24.

When I started, I'd been married almost 16 years. It's now been almost 27 years and we still really like each other.

When I started, most people had only owned a digital camera for a few years and when/if they loaded their pics onto their computer, they just let them go wherever they wanted to go.

When I started, iPhones were barely on the market. Today, everyone has a smartphone, including my 82-year-old mom.

When I started, the cloud, for most people, was just a puffy thing in the sky. Today, it's a method for backing up, storing and sharing your photos with family and friends throughout the world.

When I started, we didn't realize that in only 11 short years, we would have a need to preserve and archive our printed family photos by digitizing them, because that's the way the world is going if we want our family stories to live on.

When I started, I just wanted to help people do fun stuff with their photos. Little did I realize that this would turn into a business that stokes this passion that I have for touching hearts, building family relationships and giving people the peace of mind that comes with knowing your memories are safe.

Thank you to all of the clients, mentors and friends who have supported me and touched my heart over the past 11 years. Cheers!

Holly
